Set up Hermes

Give your Hermes agent the ability to make phone calls in India through Superfone.

Install the Superfone skill

On the computer that runs Hermes, run this command:

hermes skills install https://docs.superfone.dev/docs/connect-ai-agent/SKILL.md

If you use a named Hermes profile, select it with --profile <name> before skills install.

Review the skill and the installer scan before you accept installation. Do not bypass a blocked scan. If Hermes cannot install from a URL, follow the manual steps in the Hermes skill guide. Read the Superfone skill — it uses Superfone's public API and needs no MCP connection.
Connect your account

Start a new conversation with your agent after installation and send this message:

Use the superfone-connect skill to set up my Superfone account. Ask me for my Superfone API key and save it securely. Do not place a call until I request one.

Your agent needs an HTTP tool and a secret store that retains your key between sessions. If it cannot keep credentials securely, stop setup until you configure its secret store.
Enter your API key when asked

Your agent will ask for your Superfone API key. Once the feature is enabled on your account, find it in the web dashboard under Settings → API keys. Not enabled yet? Get access at superfone.in/ai-number.

Your agent saves the key securely. Installation does not place a call — after setup, tell your agent whom to call and what to ask.

Reading the result. Your agent checks the call status and reports the outcome. If the conversation stops, ask it to resume the last Superfone call — it uses the saved call reference. Automatic notices require background tasks on your agent host; the skill alone cannot wake an idle agent.
